LAARS® Mini-Therm JX gas-fired boiler recall

Health Canada has issued a recall for the LAARS® Mini-Therm JX gas-fired residential atmospheric boilers, models JX050 and JX075.

Product

LAARS® Mini-Therm JX gas-fired residential atmospheric boilers, models JX050 and JX075.

The affected units have serial numbers between V21306297 and V22311517. They are grey and include a front display panel with “LAARS® MINI-THERM JX” on a black and orange name plate.

Issue

The recalled products may pose a carbon monoxide leak hazard due to the original mounting position of the blocked vent switch, which may not allow the boiler to switch off in a timely manner when the vent is blocked.

What to do

Consumers should stop using the boilers immediately and contact LAARS® Heating Systems Company at 1 888-454-3223 to arrange for the installation of a free repair kit.
