Incident Overview
An individual was found unresponsive inside of a house under construction. A portable gasoline fueled electric generator was found along with dangerously high levels of carbon monoxide. Despite the warning label on the generator advising against use indoors, evidence suggests that it was used in the enclosed space to supply power for construction and for a space heater. Carbon monoxide is a colourless, odourless, tasteless gas that interferes with the body’s ability to absorb oxygen, which can result in serious illness or death.
