Overview
The Vehicle Conversion - Compressed Natural Gas/Liquified Petroleum Gas (CNG/LPG) Certificate of Qualification allows you to maintain and repair CNG and LPG vehicle fuel systems under an operating permit.
This certificate does not allow you to work on CNG-related systems as part of a liquefied natural gas-equipped vehicle. An LNG endorsement must be acquired for this purpose and attached to your certification.
There is no exam for this certificate.
Eligibility
To apply for this certificate, you must:
- Possess both Vehicle Conversion (CNG) and Vehicle Conversion (LPG) certificates

How to Apply
Please make sure to submit a certificate application before trying to book an exam. If you haven’t already submitted your certificate application, you can submit it by logging into your Online Services account.
Once you have submitted your certificate application and we have reviewed it, you will receive a notification to book your exam. Use your Online Services account to find your available exam and choose your preferred exam dates, times, and locations. You will not be able to book your exam until we notify you that you are eligible.

Installing or Altering a CNG or LPG System
If you would like to install or alter a CNG or LPG system in a vehicle, you will need specific manufacturer training and an endorsement from us.
To have an endorsement attached to your certification, you must provide a record of successful training completion. Send this record to us via email, and we will attach an endorsement to your Vehicle Conversion (CNG/LPG) certificate. In some cases, multiple endorsements may be required to perform certain work.
